Rintihan Ku Buatmu Ya Aba Abdillah...

Salam atas tangan yang terpisah
Salam dan tahiyyat atas tubuh yang bermandikan darah
Aku datang menabur pasir memburu mati
Kuhadiahkan raga demi cinta sejati
Pukulan lawan begitu bertubi
Terputus tali ghirbah sajian air tuk putra nabi
Pukulan keras benda tumpul di kepala al Abbas
Merekah kepala, mengucurkan darah
Terbayang wajah Sukainah tercekik dahaga
Teringat paras bayi menjerit kehausan
Rembulan Bani Hasyim memekik sedih
Salam atas mu Ya Aba Abdillah.. Salam atas mu Ya Aba Abdillah..
Tombak dan pedang telah mengarah, luka al Abbas makin parah
Al Husain memeluk sang adik terkasih
Merintih pilu… Wa Akhah…Wa Abbasah…

WHY FOLLOW THE FAMILY OF THE PROPHET (S)?

Verily Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O People of the House (Ahl al-Bayt) and to purify you a thorough purifying.
[Verse of Purification from Qur'an 33:33]

Prophet Muhammad (s) was asked by his Companions:

“How should we invoke blessings for you?” … He said: “Say: ‘O Allah! Send Your blessings on Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad, as You sent Your blessings on Abraham and on the Family of Abraham, for You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.’”
[Sahih al-Bukhari, volume 4, book 55, number 589]

The Shi’ah believe that the twin legacy of Prophet Muhammad (s) is the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt (specific members of his family). The Ahl al-Bayt are the source for the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet (s). Only by obtaining instruction from both these sources can a Muslim hope to attain true guidance.
Prophet Muhammad’s Legacy
“I am about to answer the call (of death). Verily, I leave behind two precious things (thaqalayn) amongst you: the Book of Allah and my Ahl al Bayt. Verily, the two will never separate until they come back to me by the side of the Pond.” This authentic hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (s) is narrated by over 30 of his Companions and recorded by a large number of Sunni scholars. Some of the famous sources for this hadith include:
* al Hakim al Naysaburi, al Mustadrak `ala al-Sahihayn (Beirut), volume 3, pages 109-110, 148, and 533). He expressly states that the tradition is sahih in accordance with the criteria of al Bukhari and Muslim; al Dhahabi has confirmed his judgement

* Muslim, al-Sahih, (English translation), book 031, numbers 5920-3
* al Tirmidhi, al-Sahih, volume 5, pages 621-2, numbers 3786 and 3788; volume 2, page 219
* al-Nasa’i, Khasa’is’Ali ibn Abi Talib, hadith number 79
* Ahmad b. Hanbal, al-Musnad, volume 3, pages 14, 17, 26; volume 3, page 26, 59; volume 4, page 371; volume 5, pages 181-2, 189-190
* Ibn al ‘Athir, Jami` al ‘usul, volume 1, page 277
* Ibn Kathir, al Bidayah wa al nihayah, volume 5, page 209. He quotes al-Dhahabi and declares this hadith to be sahih.
* Ibn Kathir, Tafsir al-Qur’an al-’Azim , volume 6, page 199
* Nasir al-Din al-Albani, Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahiha (Kuwait: al-Dar al-Salafiyya), volume 4, pages 355-8. He lists many chains of narration that he considers reliable.

There are many more sources for this hadith than it is possible to list here.
Didn’t the Prophet (s) say “I leave behind the Book of God and my Sunnah” ?
This is a popular misconception. The fact is that there is no reliable basis for this statement attributed to the Prophet’s (s) Final Sermon. It is completely absent from any of the six Sihah books!! The version in Malik’s Muwatta’, Ibn Hisham’s Sirat Rasul Allah, and from him in al-Tabari’s Ta’rikh, all suffer from incomplete chains of narration with several links in the chain missing! The other versions that have a full chain of narration (isnad) – of which there are very few – all contain narrators that are unanimously considered to be highly unreliable by leading Sunni scholars of rijal. These remarkable facts can be confirmed by those interested in research by referring to the relevant books. Clearly, no one is suggesting that the Sunnah of the Prophet (s) should not be followed. As stated before, the Prophet (s) wished for the Muslims to refer to his Ahl al-Bayt as a reliable, pure and inerrant source for his Sunnah.
What is so special about the Family of the Prophet (s) ?
When the verse “(O Muhammad) Say, ‘I do not ask for any reward for this (bringing of Allah’s message) except the love for the near kinship.’” (42:23) was revealed, the Muslims asked the Prophet: “Who are these near kin of yours whose love is obligatory upon us?” He replied, “‘Ali, Fatima, and their two sons.”
* al Hakim al Naysaburi, al Mustadrak `ala al-Sahihayn, volume 2, page 444

* al-Qastallani, Irshad al-Sari Sharh Sahih al-Bukhari, volume 7, page 331
* al-Suyuti, al-Durr al-Manthur, volume 6, pages 6-7
* al-Alusi al-Baghdadi, Ruh al-Ma’ani, volume 25, pages 31-2

The position of truthfulness and virtue of the Ahl al-Bayt was further confirmed by the Qur’an during the disputation with the Christians of Najran. When the verse was revealed “But whoever disputes with you in this matter after what has come to you of knowledge, then say: come let us call our sons and your sons and our women and your women and our near people and your near people, then let us be earnest in prayer, and pray for the curse of Allah on the liars.” (3:61), the Prophet (s) called ‘Ali, Fatima, al-Hasan and al-Husayn and said: ‘O Allah, these are my Family (Ahli)’.
* Muslim, al-Sahih, (English translation), book 031, number 5915

* al Hakim al Naysaburi, al Mustadrak `ala al-Sahihayn, volume 3, page 150. He states that it is sahih in accordance with the criteria of al-Bukhari and Muslim
* Ibn Hajar al-’Asqalani, Fath al-Bari Sharh Sahih al-Bukhari, volume 7, page 60
* al-Tirmidhi, al-Sahih, kitab al-manaqib, volume 5, page 596
* Ahmad b. Hanbal, al-Musnad, volume 1, page 185
* al-Suyuti, History of Khalifas Who Took The Right Way, (London, 1995), page 176

Isn’t it enough to show respect towards the Ahl al-Bayt ?
Is it sufficient to just show respect towards the Qur’an? Surely the Muslims have no choice but to follow it, as a source of Divine guidance, in all their affairs. The Prophet Muhammad (s) left two things as legacy to the Muslims, and promised that they will never separate from each other until the Day of Judgement. By twinning the Ahl al-Bayt with the Qur’an, the Prophet (s) was telling us to not only show respect towards them, but also to take explanations of Islamic doctrine, practices, hadith and tafsir from them.
“Behold! My Ahl al-Bayt are like the Ark of Noah. Whoever embarked on it was saved, and whoever turned away from it perished”
* al Hakim al Naysaburi, al Mustadrak `ala al-Sahihayn, volume 3, p. 151 and volume 2, page 343. He states that it is sahih in accordance with the criteria of Muslim

* al-Suyuti, al-Durr al-Manthur, volume 1, pages 71-72

Ibn Hajar al-Makki, al-Sawa’iq al-Muhriqa, page 140. He states that this tradition has come down through many chains of narration that strengthen each other.
Who are included in the Ahl al-Bayt ?
It has been shown that the Family of the Prophet (s) – interchangeably referred to as the Ahl al-Bayt, ‘Itrah and Aal – included his daughter Fatima al-Zahra’, her husband Imam ‘Ali, and their children Imams al-Hasan and al-Husayn (‘a). The members of this Family of five, with the Prophet Muhammad (s) at its head, were the ones alive at the time the Qur’anic verses regarding their virtue were being revealed to the Prophet (s). However, nine other Imams from the descendants of Imam al-Husayn (‘a) are also in this chosen Family, the final one being Imam al-Mahdi (‘a). The Prophet (s) said:
* “I and ‘Ali and al-Hasan and al-Husayn and nine of the descendants of al-Husayn are the purified ones and the inerrant.” [al-Juwayni, Fara'id al-Simtayn, (Beirut, 1978), page 160. Note that al-Juwayni's greatness as a scholar of hadith has been attested by al-Dhahabi in Tadhkirat al-Huffaz, volume 4, page 298, and also by Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani in al-Durar al-Kaminah, volume 1, page 67]

* “I am the chief of the Prophets and ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib is the chief of successors, and after me my successors shall be twelve, the first of them being ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib and the last of them being al-Mahdi.” [al-Juwayni, Fara'id al-Simtayn, page 160]
* “Al-Mahdi is one of us Ahl al-Bayt” and “al-Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of Fatima” [Ibn Majah, al-Sunan, volume 2, page 519, numbers 4085-6; Abu Dawud, al-Sunan, volume 2, page 207]

What about the Wives of the Prophet (s) ?
The verse of purification “Verily Allah only desires to … ” was revealed to the Prophet (s) in the house of his wife Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her); the Prophet called al-Hasan, al-Husayn, Fatima and ‘Ali, and he gathered them together and covered them with the mantle. Then he said, “O Allah, these are my Ahl al-Bayt, so keep away every impurity from the Ahl al-Bayt, and purify them with a perfect purification.” Umm Salama said, “Am I with them, O Apostle of Allah?” The Prophet (s) said, “You stay in your place, and you are virtuous.”
* al-Tirmidhi, al-Sahih, volume 5, pages 351 and 663

* al Hakim al Naysaburi, al Mustadrak `ala al-Sahihayn, volume 2, page 416. He states that it is sahih in accordance with the criteria of al-Bukhari
* al-Suyuti, al-Durr al-Manthur, volume 5, page 197

The beginning of verse 33:33 and subsequent statements are addressed to the wives of the Prophet (s) as is evident from the feminine pronouns used. However, in the verse of purification, the gender changes to the masculine or mixed gender. This also shows that it was an independent revelation addressed to different individuals.
Allahumma shalli ala Muhammad wa aali Muhammad...

Fatimah Zahra's Martyrdom and the Spot of Her Grave

It is reported that Fatimah died on the 13th Jamadi-al-Awwal or third of Jumada 'l-Akhir in the eleventh year of the hijrah. She survived the Holy Prophet(S.A.W.) by only ninety-five days.

The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali(A.S.) himself took charge of her washing. It is reported that Asma' daughter of `Umays assisted him in washing her. Asma' related: "Fatimah(A.S.) had stated in her will that no one should wash her corpse except 'Ali(A.S.) and I. Thus we washed her together, and the Commander of the Faithful prayed over her along with Hasan(A.S.) and Husayn(A.S.), `Amman ibn Yasir, Miqdad, `Aqil, az-Zubayr, Abu Dharr, Salman, Buraydah and a few men of Banu Hashim. They prayed over her in the night, and in accordance with her own will 'Ali the Commander of the Faithful buried her in secret."

There is much disagreement among traditionists as to the exact spot of her grave. Our own traditionists have asserted that she was buried in the Baqi `. Others said that she was buried in her own chamber, and that when the Umayyad rulers enlarged the Mosque of Medina, her grave came to be in the sanctuary. Still others argued that she was buried between the grave and pulpit of the Prophet. It is to this that the Holy Prophet(S.A.W.) alluded in his saying: "There is between my grave and pulpit a garden of the gardens of Paradise." The first view is unlikely, while the two other views are nearer to the truth. Thus, those who wish to apply the principle of caution (ihtiyat) when performing ziyarah, or pilgrimage, to her grave, should do so in all three places.

A Quiet Funeral

In the darkness of the jet-black night, when eyes were asleep and voices were silent, a Heavenly procession left Imam Ali's house while carrying the Messenger of Allah's daughter to her final abode. This was on the night of the third of Jamadi Al-Thani (the second), 11 A.H.

The heartbreaking procession moved towards an unknown location followed by a small number of devoted ones... They were Ali(A.S.), Hasan(A.S.), Hussain(A.S.), Zainab(A.S.) and Umm Kulthum(A.S.)... Abu Dhar, Ammar, Miqdad, and Salman were following them.

Where are the thousands who inhabited Medina?! One asks, and the answer came: Fatima (A.S.) requested that they may not be present at her funeral! The family and their friends hurry to bury Fatima... then they rush back to their own homes so that no one would know where Fatima was buried!

In such a matter, the first start from Ahlul-Bayt set after the sun (the Prophet) and left everyone with the only light of Imamate! Here I was asked: "What do you think about the end of the life of Fatima(A.S.)? What will be the position of those who oppresses her in the hereafter!?" I waved my hand to him... So long... with no word...dead silence...So long! But wait. Can't you hear the Commander of the faithful...the known hero...Ali...Don't you realize that he is crying? Yet, who would not cry for being separated from the Mistress of women? Listen to him, he is speaking to the Prophet(S.A.W.):

"O Prophet of Allah, peace be upon you from me and from your daughter who has come to you and who has hastened to meet you. O Prophet of Allah (S.A.W.)! My patience about your chosen (daughter) has been exhausted and my power of endurance has weakened, except that I have ground for consolation in having endured the great hardship and heart-rending event of your separation. I laid you down in your grave while your last breath had passed (when your head) between my neck and chest. 'Verily we are Allah's and verily unto Him shall we return.' (2:56)

Now the trust has been returned and what had been given has been taken back. My grief knows no bounds, and my nights will remain sleepless till Allah chooses for me the house in which you are now residing. Certainly your daughter would apprise you of the joining together of your Ummah (people) for oppressing her. You ask her in detail and get all the news about the position. This happened when a long time had not elapsed and your remembrance had not disappeared. My salam be on you both, the salam of a grief stricken not of a disgusted or a hateful person; for if I go away, it is not because I am weary (of you); and if I stay, it is not due to lack of belief in what Allah has promised those who endures."

Failing Attempts

At sunrise people gathered to participate in Hadrat Fatima's funeral, but they were informed that the darling of Allah's Messenger (S.A.W.) had been secretly buried during the night. Meanwhile, Ali (A.S.) made the shapes of four fresh graves in Baqi' so as to conceal the location where Fatima was buried.
When the people entered the graveyard, they were confused as to which spot was actually Lady Fatima Zahra's grave; the people turned towards each other and with feeling of guilt said:

"Our Prophet (S.A.W.) has not left behind but one daughter, yet she has died and was buried without our participation in the funeral or the prayer rituals. We do not even realize the place where she has been buried!"

Noticing that a revolt might be ignited because of the emotional atmosphere that event created, the governing party announced:
"Select a group of Muslim women and ask them to dig these graves so that we may find Fatima(A.S.) and perform prayers on her.

" Yes! They attempted to execute the plan, violating Hadrat Fatima's will and causing Imam Ali's (A.S.) attempts to hide the grave to lay veinly. Have they forgotten Ali's sharp sword and his well-known courage! Did they really think that Imam Ali(A.S.) would remain indifferent to their outrageous actions up to the point of letting them dig Fatima's grave?!

Imam Ali (A.S.) did not fight back after the Holy Prophet's (S.A.W.) demise because he considered the Muslim's unity and overall interests. Yet, this did not mean that he would ignore their villainous crimes against Hadrat Fatima(A.S.) even after her death.

In other words, Imam Ali(A.S.) was asked by the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) to have patience, but only to a certain extent; when Imam Ali(A.S.) received the news of the about to be executed plot, he put on his fighting gear and rushed towards Baqi'.

A man from among the people called out:
"This is Ali Ibn Abu Talib(A.S.) leveling his sword and saying:
'If anyone moves even a more stone from these graves, I shall strike even the "back of the last follower of the unjust.'

People who realized Imam Ali's seriousness, took his threats with complete belief that he would do just as he said if anyone were to appose him. Yet, a man from the governing ones addressed Imam Ali (A.S.) by saying:

"What is the matter, Abu Al-Hasan?! By Allah, we shall dig her grave out and perform prayers on her."Imam Ali (A.S.) then grabbed the man by his clothes, shook him and threw him to the ground and said:

"Son of the Sawada! I have abandoned my right to prevent people from forsaking their faith, but as regards Fatima's grave, by Him in whose hand is my soul, if you and your followers attempt to do anything to it, I will irrigate the ground with your blood!"

At this, Abu Bakr said:
"Abu Al-Hassan, I ask you by the right of Allah's Messenger, and by Him Who is above the Throne: leave him alone and we will not do anything which you would not approve of..." Thus, until this day, the location of Hadrat Fatima Zahra's grave remains a secret.

Why Hadrat Fatima Was Martyred?

By: Seyyed Ali Shahbaz

       “For Allah’s Book is still amongst you, its affairs are apparent, its rules are manifest, its signs are dazzling, its restrictions are visible and its commands are evident. Yet indeed you have cast it behind your backs. What! Do you detest it? Or according to something else you wish to rule? Evil would be the exchange for the wrongdoers! And if anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to God alone), it never will be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost.”

      Today we mourn the person who pronounced these words to a gathering that had obviously deviated from the laws of God no sooner had the Prophet left the mortal world. The person happened to be a lady but so vast was her wisdom and so eloquent was her tongue that no man from among the assembly of ‘democrats’ whom she was addressing dared to lift up their heads and provide any justification as to what prompted them to tamper with religion by selecting one of them to be the political leader despite the fact that it is God who decrees leadership in Islam.

     She was not bitter. Neither was frustrated with life despite the agony she was experiencing for defence of humanitarian values. She was just exercising her right and her responsibility as the daughter of the Almighty’s Last Messenger to mankind, not just to admonish the unrepentant usurpers of the rights of her husband and the deniers of her inheritance, but also to teach a lasting lesson to all humanity on discerning right from wrong.
She was none other than Fatema (SA), the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) regarding whom the father had said: “Whoever hurts Fatema, has hurt me and whoever hurts me has in fact hurt Allah.”

   What an irony! Persons posing as Muslims and styling themselves as successors of the Prophet had dared to displease Allah in their greed for seizing what did not belong to them. They had even snatched away from her the Orchard of Fadak on the unconvincing assumption that Prophet’s don’t leave inheritance, in spite of the evident facts that the Prophet had bequeathed it to his daughter in his lifetime and she was spending its income for the poor and deprived sections of the society.

    She refuted them by quoting passages from the Holy Qur’an on how Prophet Solomon inherited the kingdom of his father Prophet David, and how the legacy of Prophet Zechariah was passed onto his son John the Baptist. They were stupefied and had no answer. They had no valid argument either except for some vague references to the pre-Islamic days of the Period of Ignorance when she accosted them on the question of caliphate that by God’s command on the Day of Ghadeer was entrusted to her husband, Imam Ali (AS). She told them that the bounties of God and prosperity in mankind would only descend on earth in case of the Leadership of the Virtuous and not manipulation of power by the unprincipled and the immoral.

      Fatema (SA) delivered her message. Her lengthy sermon that has actually been hailed as a manifesto of Islamic tenets with its reference to monotheism, its emphasis on the fundamental principle of divine justice, its focus on enlightening mission of Prophethood, its stressing of imamate or leadership of the chosen of God, its outlining of the social duties, and its reminding of the Day of Resurrection, are outside the scope of this brief newspaper column. Interested readers could refer to authoritative books for her sermon which ended with the words:

“Surely, I have said all that I have said with full knowledge that you intent to forsake me…Take it (the caliphate), you have put it on the back of an ill-she camel that has a thin hump marked with the wrath of Allah,”

     She was not destined to live much longer. Barely 75 days (and 95 days according to another account), the lady at whose door the Prophet used to salute and through whom he defined the lofty concept of women’s rights in Islam, left the world a martyr. She was the victim of the violation of God’s commandments by a group of power-hungry persons who dared to set fire to her doorstep, flung the door in her face that resulted in miscarriage for her, and whipped her hand when in that acute state of pain she clung to the garments of her husband who was being dragged by the mob for the forced swearing of allegiance to the coup leaders of Medina.

THE VEIL,DAWUD ALI

This is a great song about hijab that singed by Dawud Ali, awesome lyrics, that make u think...

They say,
"Oh, poor girl, you’re so beautiful you know
It’s a shame that you cover up your beauty so."

She just smiles and graciously responds reassuringly,
"This beauty that I have is just one simple part of me.
This body that I have, no stranger has the right to see.
These long clothes, this shawl I wear, ensure my modesty.
Faith is more essential than fashion, wouldn’t you agree?"

This hijab,
This mark of piety,
Is an act of faith, a symbol,
For all the world to see
A simple cloth, to protect her dignity
So lift the veil from your heart
to see the heart of purity

They tell her,
"Girl, don’t you know this is the West and you are free?
You don’t need to be oppressed, ashamed of your femininity."

She just shakes her head and she speaks so assuredly,
"See the bill-boards and the magazines that line the check-out isles,
with their phony painted faces and their air-brushed smiles?
Well their sheer clothes and low cut gowns they are really not for me.
You call it freedom, I call it anarchy."

This hijab,
This mark of piety,
Is an act of faith, a symbol,
For all the world to see
A simple cloth, to protect her dignity
So lift the veil from your heart
to see the heart of purity
Lift the veil from your heart
and seek the heart of purity
